Dr. Ebtesam Almazrouei has been appointed as the Chairperson of the UN’s AI for Good Impact initiative. The appointment, announced at the AI for Good Global Summit held in Geneva, Switzerland. This marks a pivotal moment in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for worldwide progress.
A Leader in AI and Technology
Dr. Almazrouei brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Holding a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence for Wireless Communication Engineering and Computer Science. She has MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, and a BSc in Communication and Electrical Engineering from the UAE.
Dr. Almazrouei is the founder of AIE3, a company dedicated to delivering AI solutions business and consumer needs.
About AI for Good
AI for Good stands as the preeminent action-oriented platform within the United Nations. It is focused on harnessing the power of AI for global progress. Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It with collaboration with 40 UN sister agencies and co-convened by Switzerland. AI for Good is dedicated to advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through practical AI applications.
With the belief that AI holds immense promise in achieving the SDGs by 2030. AI for Good seeks to identify and scale solutions with tangible global impact.
The AI for Good Global Summit
The annual AI for Good Global Summit serves as a focal point for global discussions on the practical applications of AI. Organized by the ITU in partnership with various UN agencies, the XPRIZE Foundation, ACM, and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the summit convenes stakeholders from over 70 countries.
At the summit, participants explore how AI can be effectively utilized to address the challenges outlined in the SDGs. It aims to foster collaboration and innovation on a global scale.
